Parent Letter - Jan 18

Dear Parents,

We have entered Ordinary time in the Church calendar, not because anything about our faith in God is ordinary, but to remind us that God is found in the ordinary of our everyday lives. At times when we are in the midst of life is when we most need to recognize the presence of God, and seek Him in prayer. In this Ordinary time I ask for your prayers for our new pastor Father Mark O’Donnell, for our faculty and staff, for myself, and for the entire school family as we continue our work toward re-accreditation.

Catholic Schools Week will be celebrated starting on January 29th and throughout the following week. Many helpers are needed for our annual breakfast and book fair, as well as student appreciation day. Please consider giving an hour or two to one of these activities. We all know that “many hands make light work”.

On the Friday of Catholic Schools Week we will celebrate the Eucharist together at 9 a.m. Traditionally, our Kindergarten and 4th Grade prepare the readings and the gifts. All families in the school are asked to contribute a toiletry item to be brought to Catholic Charities for distribution. Some suggested donations are toothpaste and toothbrushes, soap and hand lotion. These items will be a part of our offering at Mass on February 3rd.

On Saturday, February 11th, the Home-School Association will sponsor a Valentine themed “Wine Tasting” event. Please mark your calendars and look for more information in the very near future.

I remind you that report cards will be distributed on Friday. Also on Friday (assuming the weather permits) Bishop Michael Cote will visit St. Joseph School.

Please continue to pray for all in our school family who are in need. You are in our prayers daily.

Sincerely,

Marianne Cote
Principal
